Residential

Residential

We specialize in clinically complex presentations, whether rooted in trauma or brain chemistry, and adapt our program to fit the individual.

Residential:
A Flexible Program for Specific Needs

We recognize that what works for one person may not produce results for another. Spero’s Residential or River program makes a place for those who need a gentler environment, a more customized treatment approach, or have unique needs that can’t be accommodated in one of our other programs. Spero is a place where change is possible, because you nurture the courage to try new things, cultivate self-compassion and ownership for your healing journey, and learn just as much about what makes life worth living as you do the problems that brought you here.

Who is right for Spero's River Program - Spero Center at The Meadows

Who is Right for Spero’s River Program?

The ideal candidate is someone who wants the Meadows Model of treatment and would benefit from more empirically supported interventions. They likely struggle with long-standing mood disorders like depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder and they may have experienced complex trauma, have physical concerns, and struggle in relationships. A River patient may feel fragile or be advocating for a treatment program we don’t have available on our other campuses.

Our Facility

The goal with all Meadows Behavioral Healthcare programs is to provide clinical treatment in a decidedly un-clinical environment. This results in comfortable, homey spaces with patient lounges, an outdoor courtyard, and comfortable bedrooms. Completed in 2023, Spero Center is comprised of two wings to meet the needs of two unique populations. While the building sits on a single footprint, the two programs and their patients remain completely separate.

What Treatment Looks Like

Spero Center offers gentle yet comprehensive clinical programming to our River patients. Initially in treatment, we will focus on gaining a good understanding of the patient and creating a treatment plan. We have daily process and educational groups, multiple individual sessions each week, trauma resolution work, regular access to the Brain Center and art room, neurofeedback, and our full complement of holistic amenities such as yoga, equine, the ropes challenge course, and the gym. While Spero River is a 45-day program, we have the ability to add additional days for patients who want to continue their progress or who need more time due to the complexity of their presenting problems.

Methods we use:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
  • The Meadows Model
  • Art Therapy
  • Yoga
  • Equine
  • Ropes Course
  • Neurofeedback

The Role of Family

We recognize the important role loved ones play in the treatment process. Spero Family Foundations is a family program especially for our River patients. Families will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight, create healthier boundaries, improve their communication, and get clarity about next steps to move forward with their lives and relationships.
